Melissa S. Galvan, LMSW
Each person has skills, gifts, wisdom, and power within themselves to grow, learn, heal, and feel better. I believe in the power of connection, relationships, and compassion to drive the therapeutic process. I use an eclectic style of therapy, with a focus on meeting people where they are, establishing trust, and using their strengths to achieve goals.

Through my 16 years of social work experience, I have worked in many systems including schools, Community Mental Health, and child welfare. I am most experienced in working with youth, teens, and families and have helped people with a range of concerns including depression, anxiety, self-harm, trauma, and parenting issues.
My approach combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy. I emphasize the use of mindfulness, self-care, and skill building to better understand the underlying needs, beliefs, and past traumas. When we can understand our thoughts, feelings, and behavior, we can transform the way we think, feel, and respond to the world around us.
It is truly an honor to hear your story and work alongside you to help create the life you want to live. I look forward to serving you!
